Members are advised that AIMS has received correspondence from NSW Resources, advising that the NSW Mine Survey Policy has been adopted following consultation with key stakeholders. AIMS submitted a review and response to the draft policy to help frame the policy.

The AIMS Mudgee regional seminar was held at Parklands Resort, Mudgee on Friday 20 March 2026. The AIMS Mudgee Regional Seminar was once again well attended and we look forward to seeing you all there again next year.

The Call for Papers for the AIMS National Conference 2026 has an extended deadline .

The NSW Government issued a new notice in the Government Gazette (No.43) on 6 February 2026 informing mine operators of requirements in relation to the provision of mine survey plans to the Resources Regulator.

AIMS would like to advise of careers days organised by the NSW Surveying Taskforce (Surveying Careers) of which AIMS is a member. The taskforce is seeking volunteers to man the booth at each of these events and would love to have mining surveyors involved.

The NSW Board of Surveying and Spatial Information (BOSSI) has held its 2025 presentation ceremony.

The 2025 AIMS Hunter Valley Seminar was held at the Mercure Hotel, Hunter Valley Gardens on Friday 21^st November, with over 75 members and sponsors in attendance.

AIMS hosted a NSW Candidate workshop on Thursday 20^th November 2025 in the Hunter Valley.

Members are invited to renew their 2026 membership now. As AIMS membership works on calendar years you can renew (or join) early, but first check if your company is a current "Corporate Member" for 2026. 

AIMS is pleased to extend the offer of free membership to all eligible full-time students for the full calendar year 2026. 

The 2025 AIMS Conference, held on the Sunshine coast, Queensland from September 17th to 19th, was the largest and most successful event to date, continuing the steady growth trend in attendees, presentations and sponsorship.

BOSSI has hosted the Annual Candidate Workshop at the Kurri Kurri TAFE Campus on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 May.
