The AIMS 2019 Moranbah Interactive Technology Day, held on May 15, was a great success again this year.
The United States Department of Labor has published an Accident Report on the fatal accident of Jeffery N. Slone, a 56-year-old survey crew member with 30 years of mining experience.
The 2019 AIMS North Queensland regional seminar was held in early April at the unique location of Glencore’s Ernest Henry Mine, located 38km North East of the Cloncurry township.
The inaugural WA AIMS Technology Day was held in Perth on 15th February 2019. Offered as a free event for AIMS members, SSSI members and students there were over 80 registrants and it was a big success.
The AIMS Illawarra seminar was back in 2018 and was strongly supported with over 50 attendees at the new venue, The Illawarra Brewery.
The AIMS 2018 Kalgoorlie event was held on the 13th June 2018 at the Kalgoorlie Hannan’s Club and was well attended by well over 25 registrants.
It was a great experience at the AIMS Mudgee Seminar in 2018 with a new venue and new format - one that was greatly enjoyed by around 60 attendees.

The AIMS 2017 Mt Isa Interactive Session was held on 9th June 2017 and was well attended by well over 20 registrants.
After an evening of networking at one of Brisbane's top 'pubs' the Queensland subcommittee members spent the Saturday discussing keys issues confronting mine surveyors in Queensland. Each of the six members were given a highlighted topic to investigate before the meeting.
Another successful Technology Day was held in Moranbah in 2017 on 10th May with 50 attendees from a majority of the surrounding mines.
A Notice from the Board of Surveyors in 1983 still rings true. While getting prepared for his move to his new office in the McKell Building near Central Station, David Job, Director of Cadastral Integrity in the Office of the Registrar General, found the following notice from the Board of Surveyors issued in November 1983.
