Ian Payne was elected a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mine Surveyors on 14th September 2023 at the AIMS 2023 Annual General Meeting held during the AIMS 2023 National Conference in Sydney.
The 2023 AIMS National Conference was held in September 2023 at the Hyatt Regency in Darling Harbour, Sydney.
On Saturday 16th September 2023 the annual strategic planning workshop was held for the Australian Institute of Mine Surveyors (AIMS).
The Office of the Surveyor-General has advised that the revised SGD No 8 – Mining Tenure Surveys has been approved and published on the DCS Spatial Services website.
The AIMS Board wishes to express sincere condolences, on behalf of all members, to the family and friends of Chris Hutchison, AIMS Fellow since 2010 and highly respected member since 2004, following his recent passing.
The AIMS Board has presented Mark McShane with an honorary membership at the 2023 AIMS Conference formal dinner in Sydney.
Matt Hutchison has been awarded the RMIT University AIMS Mine Surveying Prize for 2023.
On July 12, the Central Queensland town of Emerald played host to another highly successful AIMS regional event. The event saw an impressive turnout of over thirty delegates and featured nine interactive technology booths.
Mount Isa is uniquely placed with a working, underground tourist mine, so AIMS capitalises on this and uses the resource to conduct its annual field day.
The AIMS 2023 Newcastle Regional Seminar was held on 12 May 2023 with a welcome dinner the night before.
The Cairns 2023 AIMS Seminar and Networking event was held on 27 April 2023.
The Mudgee Regional AIMS Seminar for 2023 was a great success.
Thanks to Matt Jones for once again organising a Kalgoorlie Regional Seminar.
The AIMS Singleton Seminar was held at the Charbonnier function centre on Friday 18th November 2022, with 88 people in attendance.
The AIMS Perth 2022 Regional Seminar and Networking event was another great success for our members and industry. The event was held in the Perth city centre at the Pan Pacific Hotel.
Another successful AIMS interactive day was recently held in Moranbah, with over fifty delegates and nine technology booths which made for an informative and successful event at the Central Queensland venue on 19th October 2022.
AUSPOS data submissions will soon be directed to contact SCIMS through a new, user-friendly Customer Hub.
While we had our Executive and Directors attend the AIMS 2022 National Conference we took the opportunity to review our Business Plan for 2022 to 2024.
What a great conference we had at the Royal Pines on the Gold Coast. It was wonderful to see so many attendees and sponsors attend the event. If was very clear that everyone was excited to reconnect after our pause during the pandemic.
