It is an ongoing issue and I think will be for a while yet!
I think the important this is understanding the transformations and how it can effect the outcome and having a software that can complete this task adequately and this is not by a 2 step transformation which I have seen from many in the past.
The QLD government require any information to be submitted in GDA2020 whether that is new control or mine information both lease and workings so that is a good start.
It is painful I agree but ensuring our fella surveyors know how to complete and check transformed data is critical on this issue.

Other States may be different but from a Queensland perspective just how much longer can sites continue to use 30, 40, 50 or 60 year old coordinate systems/datum's relative to the direction of new technology and especially in relation to autonomy and machine control systems?
