Mt Isa 2017 Review

2017 Mt Isa 180The AIMS 2017 Mt Isa Interactive Session was held on 9th June 2017 and was well attended by well over 20 registrants.

For the second year running AIMS utilised Mount Isa’s unique local facilities to its full potential by completing real life demonstrations on some of the survey sector's newest technologies.

For those who are not aware of the unique facilities, Mount Isa has its own underground tourist mine with a working headframe and decline. Representation by Maptek, CR Kennedy, UPG and Position Partners this year allowed demonstrations to be spread across all available areas, both underground and on the surface, providing interesting and interactive displays for all attendants.

These guys really know what they’re doing as they made sure they didn’t double up on any new technologies. Each company played to their strengths with cutting edge information to wow the hungry surveyors.

At the end of the day the team were able to discuss applications for the newly presented equipment over a cold beverage 25m underground.

Where else can we enjoy a quiet beer and a chat underground than at Mt Isa!

Many of the guys used this as a great opportunity to discuss survey problems they were having and we were able to talk it out and come up with solutions which I’m sure were used once returning back to their respective mine sites.

As always, we would like to thank the team for making this unique event happen and especially to the surveyors for taking the time to check out some of our industry's newest equipment first hand.
