AIMS 2024 Conference Review

AIMS 2024 Conference The 2024 AIMS Conference, held in Perth, Western Australia from August 19th to 21st, was one of our largest and most successful events to date.

Our annual conference continues to grow, consistently breaking records for both registrations and sponsorship.

We had the pleasure of engaging some notable WA personalities, with Christina Morrissy serving as MC, and Justin Langer AM and Amanda Williamson as our keynote speakers. It was great to see the BHP (WAIO) team join Justin on stage to recount his first test with the Australian Cricket team. Amanda's captivating account of her Army career also resonated with many, highlighting similar challenges faced by the Defence Force and the mining industry, particularly in retention, recruitment, and managing the vast distances in such a large state as Western Australia.

A special thanks to Jo and Grace for their efforts in organising the conference. We also extend our gratitude to the outstanding team of Hazel and Dean from Conference Images, and Mark McShane from inTouch Web Services, for their excellent work in coordinating the event and the promotional activities leading up to it.

We deeply appreciate all our sponsors for their continued support and warmly welcome the new sponsors who joined us this year.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the fundraiser for WA surveyor Jesse Langley, his family, and his young son Jonah. We raised over $17,000 to help ease the unexpected financial burden brought on by Jonah's illness. This generous outpouring of support is a true testament to the community spirit of AIMS members and supporters.
