2021 AIMS AWARDS NOW OPEN
Members are advised that nominations for the 2021 AIMS AWARDS are now open and nominations will be taken until 15th July 2021.
This year we are again seeking nominations for Mine Surveyor of the Year and Young Mine Surveyor of the Year.
The AIMS Awards information, criteria and nomination forms are available via the link below.
We strongly encourage ALL members to think about the mine surveyors in their own teams, think about the other mine surveyors in the industry that you interact with and if you believe someone deserves the recognition for the work they do, then nominate them for one of the 2021 AIMS Awards.
PHOTO COMPETITION WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Congratulations to both winners, recently announced, in our 2021 Photo Competition - Callum Gardner and Craig Sweeney.
Both are now enjoying the great prizes donated by our sponsiors UPG and Topcon and Position Partners.
Callum Gardner's winning photo (above), taken at a coal mine in Central Queensland’s Bowen Basin, was a clear favourite with the judges and has since also appeared on the cover of the Maptek Forge newsletter (with Callum's permission).
We thank all participants in this year's competition and following positive feedback we are hoping to run the competition again next year.

Friday night (7th May) kicked off with a night of socialising and catching up at Roth’s Wine Bar. This was a fantastic start with people mingling, catching up with old friends and meeting new ones, setting the scene for the presentations to follow on Saturday...
PAST EVENT REVIEW
After a year off from COVID, AIMS returned to Moranbah in May 2021 with our biggest attendance ever!
Over sixty delegates and nine technology booths made for an informative and successful event at the Central Queensland event.
As always, the latest in technology was there for a “hands-on” experience but also some unique applications of software, hardware and services. The enthusiasm from all who attended was heartening and the unanimous feedback was that, the face-to-face networking and interaction with colleagues and suppliers has been sorely missed...
