The AIMS President Mick Harris and QSSA (Queensland Spatial & Surveying Association) CEO Darrenn Medhurst met with students and lecturers at USQ Toowoomba in April 2015. Mick gave a presentation on current mine surveying practices and AIMS, whilst Darrenn introduced QSSA and its services to students.
Marty Leggat, an AIMS member and local mine surveyor from Acland Mine, assisted with answering questions.
The presentation was followed by a few refreshments and a BBQ jointly sponsored by AIMS & QSSA.
"It was great to catch up with past AIMS President Bill Storey and all the lecturers involved with mine surveying", said Mick after the event.
Curriculum Update Assistance Requested
AIMS has been asked to assist with updating the curriculum at USQ in order to align it with current practice.
