In late 2010, Draft National Mine Surveying Codes of Practice for Coal & Metals mines were released to the various State Survey Boards & AIMS for review and comment.
During February and March of 2011, a WA Industry Response to the proposed new codes was compiled and subsequently tabled with the WA Mine Survey Board and at the recently held AIMS industry response meeting in Sydney on the 17th March 2011.
The AIMS industry response meeting held in Sydney, was attended by the following National Mine Surveying representatives:

The WA response document was some 21 pages long and included submissions from the following members of the WA Mine Surveying community:

Where appropriate the majority of the recommendations or proposed changes suggested in the WA response document were taken into account at the AIMS industry response meeting.

The current draft Code now sits with the various State Survey boards and Safe Work Australia and should be released for public comment sometime mid 2011.
