Once a year a major conference brings the AIMS members together.

The 2008 AIMS Conference was held on the 13-15 August at the Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach.

Australian GeoEye-1 Roadshow 
 
You might have seen the first GeoEye-1 satellite image that was released last week. It is spectacular looking imagery coming from a satellite.
 
Following on from this, we would like to invite you, and your colleagues, to the Australian GeoEye-1 Roadshow in November 2008.
 
AAMHatch is hosting this Roadshow to inform the spatial community of the technical specifications and major advances in satellite imagery that will soon be commercially available from GeoEye-1. Included in the Roadshow will be information on pricing, image availability, speed of capture and the vastly improved spatial accuracy. Representatives from GeoEye will also be in attendance to provide corporate information and to answer any questions.
 
The Australian Roadshow is being held in the following cities and dates:
 
Brisbane (Wednesday, 12 November)
Sydney (Friday, 14 November)
Perth (Monday, 17 November).

There are also prizes of the first Australian imagery captures (an area of your choice), framed for your office wall, up for grabs.

Advanced Geostatistics in Mining

Maptek, Perth, WA

Four-week residential course in the use of geostatistical tools in mining theory plus practical study. Participants then work on individual or group projects and on completion are awarded the Citation in Applied Geostatistics from the Faculty of Extension at the University of Alberta, Canada.
